Should any bands be brought in from across the channel? They may, provided they come with white-hot material like Ireland's MELTS. From Dublin, this foursome combines bulldozing motorik electronics, fanning MBV guitars and pumping percussion into krautty and psychedelic shoegaze, driven by frontman Eoin Kenny's compelling vocals.
Because their debut 'Maelstrom', MELTS has already been picked up by NME, Stereogum, DORK, Brooklyn Vegan and BBC6, toured as support act for Fontaines DC, Gilla Band and PIL, and had hyped passages at festivals like Wide Awake and SXSW. Their second record 'Figments' will be released on 12 April on Fuzz Club (King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard, The Jesus And Mary Chain,...) and was produced by Gilla Band's Daniel Fox. Get blown through the wall of sound at Cactus Café. Breaking Waves!
