With their enchanting space rock, a combination of shoegaze guitars, dream pop and influences from krautrock and 90s alternative rock, GIFT immediately catches the ear. Pitchfork, Paste, Stereogum and Rolling Stone all have the quintet on their radar, and for their second record they signed with indie stronghold Captured Tracks.

GIFT is TJ Freda (vocals/guitar), multi-instrumentalists Jessica Gurewitz and Justin Hrabrovsky, Gabe Camarano (drums) and Kallan Campbell (bass), formed just before COVID-19 in New York. They released their first album 'Momentary Presence' during the pandemic, quickly gathering a loyal online following.

'Illuminator' (2024), their first album on Captured Tracks, is the result of the growing musical and personal chemistry between the band members, handpicked by TJ Freda from his favorite bands, with roots in Salt Lake City, San Francisco, Brazil and Boston. Their captivating, hypnotic and danceable sound fits beautifully alongside labelmates such as DIIV, Beach Fossils and Wild Nothing. Seasoned space-rock fans will also recognize influences from Spiritualized and Primal Scream.
