Ava Rastiirn21:00

Ava Rasti is a composer and pianist born in Iran, working from the capital Tehran. After being part of the Iranian all-girl post-punk band The Finches, she turned to her solo work in 2020.

As a composer, Rasti experiments at the intersection of ambient, modern classical music, and drone. Her pieces carry a hushed intensity and the ominous quality of dark clouds rolling over a mountain landscape. To achieve this, Rasti makes use of electronic drones and samples, complemented by minimalist piano keys.

In 2023, Ava Rasti released two albums: 'Ginestra' and 'The Living Room'. FatCat Records signed her to its sister label 130701 (Max Richter, Hauschka, Jóhann Jóhannsson, Dustin O’Halloran…) for her most recent album 'The River' (2024).

'The River' grew out of a residency in Treviso, Northern Italy, where Rasti found peace by the banks of the Piave River. A beautiful place, which once formed the backdrop for horrific and dark battles during both world wars.

Natasha Pirardb20:00

Natasha Pirard is a Ghent-based musicologist and composer who debuted on DEEWEE, the Ghent label of Soulwax.

‘Dream Cycles’ (2024), her debut album, is an exploration of sound waves, loops, and frequencies built from eight repetitive song cycles that can play on endlessly. Natasha Pirard continues working on the ideas of minimalist composers such as Steve Reich, questioning the traditional linear nature of music.

Her next project ‘Fernande, Cecile’ (DEEWEE, 2025) is dedicated to her mother and late grandmother. Here, she draws on memories from her family’s past, marked by the imperfections of memory and the effects of Alzheimer’s. The result is deeply personal, attempting to communicate with sound where words fall short.
