The Norwegian artist Katherine Shepard, through her musical project Sylvaine, builds a transcendental bridge between worlds - seeking the spirituality at the core of human experience and something beyond the tangible.
Through her dark folk, rooted in atmospheric black metal and Norwegian folklore, echoes of spirits in ancient forests and the whispers of long-forgotten beings resonate. Sylvaine’s sound is ethereal, with Shepard’s almost otherworldly voice enhancing the sense of mystery and occult storytelling.
For her latest EP, 'Eg Er Framand', Katherine Shepard embarked on an introspective journey through Norwegian heritage and tradition, drawing inspiration from old folktales and Scandinavian mythology. Sylvaine is widely praised as one of the most intense live acts in today’s Norwegian metal scene.
