Hotline TNT is the project of 34-year-old musician Will Anderson, a catastrophic romantic in search of that special relationship that turns out to be the one. That journey forms the basis of last year's 'Cartwheel', an album that Anderson played and recorded entirely by himself and on which he mostly blames himself for everything. 'After the fall, I pretend that it's all my fault,' he admits on 'Protocol', for instance, and on the energetic, playful 'I Thought You'd Change' he zooms in on his naivety. Why on earth does he still believe that anyone would change, when he has been proven wrong so many times?

Anderson wraps big emotions with Hotline TNT in generous power-pop anthems and screeching shoegaze. 'Cartwheel' rocks, not with strenght and power, but with feeling and sincerity. Think alt rock of the 80s and 90s and midwest emo, but starring a sonic wall of sound pulled by a mountain of guitar effects. The record was picked up by Jack White's Third Man Records for a good reason and received the Best New Music stamp from Pitchfork: Hotline TNT may join the prevailing shoegaze revival, but steer away from the dreamy MBV sound towards Hüsker Du and The Replacements.

Will Anderson asked his (ever-rotating) band, buzzing wall of sound and broken heart to join him on stage at Cactus Café for a serving of redlining underdog rock. Breaking Waves!

'Will Anderson amplifies everyday heartbreak with towering shoegaze and supersized power-pop anthems that demand to be played loud'. Pitchfork 8.4

"Apartementos Acapulco, Wednesday, Drop Nineteens and yeule came up with worthy shoegaze moments this year, but have to acknowledge their superiority at the last minute to Hotline TNT, who debut on Jack White's label with Cartwheel." Ear
