With Channel One, one of the dub scene's best-known soundsystems, we can look forward to yet another absolutely top-notch edition! Mikey Dread and his brother Jah T chose the name Channel One in 1979 as a tribute to the legendary Jamaican record label. Inspired by Bob Marley's belief to unite people through reggae music, boundary summing is also Channel One's mission.
Highlights of Channel One's career included winning the Redbull Culture Clash in 2010 (where Channel One beat Metalheadz and Skream & Benga) and on which they got to play at Wembley Arena alongside Major Lazer, Annie Mac and Boy Better Know. Channel One also shared line-ups with the likes of Twinkle Brothers, Congo Natty and Mad Professor, and in recent years the duo had a residency at Village Underground, one of London's hottest underground clubs.
Channel One built custom-made speakers whose heavy bass provides the perfect outlet for their tight selection of old and new dub classics on this new edition of Dub Revolution.
Singer, songwriter, producer and studio engineer Ras Sherby recently joined the Channel One crew. He is one of the founders of Ayres Production, a young but fast-growing record label. He is also the founding father of Zion Studio Music, a top notch recording studio based in London.
Ras Sherby hails from St Catherine, Jamaica and used to sing in his younger years in the local church choir and at school events, but in the meantime he has thus grown into a fixture in the dub world. His latest EP 'Warning' is out now!
