"Butcher Brown is one of the really exciting groups on the scene right now. We toured together and they sounded amazing every night!" are the words of praise from none other than Kamasi Washington.

Anyone who has passed one of their hotly watched NPR Tiny Desk Concerts on youtube knows what the man is talking about. When Butcher Brown plays, the fun and creativity splashes off. Since 2009, the Richmond, VA-based group worked its way up from the local pub circuit to become one of the catchiest live bands of the moment. In doing so, Butcher Brown thinks in as few pigeonholes as possible and tackles jazz, rock, funk, hip-hop, soul and even snatches of country and bossa nova.

Meanwhile, Butcher Brown already has 9 records out, most recently on Concord Jazz (Chick Corea, Nubya Garcia, Takuya Kuroda). A new single was also released earlier this year, featuring cult musician Bruce Hornsby.

Friends and band members Corey Fonville (drums), Andrew Randazzo, (bass), Morgan Burrs (guitar), Marcus "Tennishu" Tenney, (trumpet, sax and vocals) and Devonne "DJ Harrison" Harris (multi-instrumentalist) are the ones you really want to see live at work. After their successful passage at the Antwerp Roma, Butcher Brown is coming to Bruges for the first time. Not to be missed!
