Ventilateurb / album release

VENTILATEUR is Bruges’ best kept secret. Their catchy mix of jazz, post-rock and soul results in a unique and compelling sound, which earned them a spot as laureates of the Sound Track talent course, beside Meskerem Mees, Coline & Toitoine and Rosa Butsi among others. Their first self-titled EP caught the attention of fans of Dans Dans and Nordmann. Now they release their debut album on W.E.R.F. Records.

The first single of this record titled ‘Hoofdplaat’ is ‘Nectar’. On this single the band bathes in analogue sounds. The listener is invited in by warm tape noise and strings, which sets the tone for the record as subdued yet intense. The repeated guitar melody guides you through the rest of the track, symbolizing the trio’s endeavour to find beauty in simplicity. Armed with drums, bass and guitar, VENTILATEUR excels in grooves and twisted rhythms, without losing sight of nuance and melody.

Ãob

Ão are South-American guitar sounds, an ambient universe of pedals and tapes, groovy percussion and entrancing vocals in Portuguese and English. Live they mix their southern traditional sounds, rhythm and saudade with a poppy-ambient edge of electronic effects and beats. Ão is one of the 18 laureates of Sound Track 2022, the talent course of Clubcircuit and Vi.be that also put a spotlight on Meskerem Mees, Ventilateur, Shaka Shams and Bluai.
